St. James City is a census-designated place (CDP) on Pine Island in Lee County, Florida, United States. The population was 4,105 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Cape Coral-Fort Myers, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.

St. James City is located at 26°32′11″N 82°5′29″W / 26.53639°N 82.09139°W / 26.53639; -82.09139 (26.536435, -82.091505).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 14.8 square miles (38 km2), of which 14.6 square miles (38 km2) is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2) (1.15%) is water.
