Sports Unlimited (now Sports U) is a sports program of ABS-CBN in the Philippines. It features different kinds of sports, as well as ordinary and prominent sports figures. It was originally hosted by Dyan Castillejo and Vince Hizon but the latter was replaced by Marc Nelson. It became a longgest-running sports program in the Philippines and on Asia. It aired every Saturday nights after The Bottomline on ABS-CBN, with replays on Sundays at 6:30 PM on S+A and replays on Sundays at 11:30 PM on ABS-CBN News Channel, also airs worldwide through The Filipino Channel.
On February 7, 2015, it ceased broadcasting as Sports Unlimited. It was revealed prior to the said date that it will be reformatted on February 12, 2015 and will be renamed as Sports U and now air every Thursdays after Bandila at the Primetime block (formerly aired at Kapamilya Gold block, with regional TV stations aired the following morning). Both ANC & S+A (and later its early broadcast on DZMM TeleRadyo) retained their simulcast after the said reformat.
Sports Unlimited is a 45-minute adventure, sports, travel and fitness television show aired Saturdays after Movie Greats on ABS-CBN Channel 2 Manila, Philippines.
It is the first sports show of its kind in the country combining adventure sports and travel while featuring current sports events, sports features, latest in health and fitness trends, and an up-close on sports personalities and other celebrities.
Sports Unlimited aims to inform Filipinos about what sports are available in the country other than what is normally seen on television like basketball, golf or boxing. The show seeks to promote adventure tourism, sports and healthy living to Filipino viewers. It also strives to honor athletes when they have achieved success in local and international competition.
