South Venice is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sarasota County, Florida, United States. The population was 13,949 at the 2010 census. It is part of the BradentonSarasotaVenice Metropolitan Statistical Area.

South Venice is located at 27°02′45″N 82°24′54″W / 27.045818°N 82.415120°W / 27.045818; -82.415120.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.4 square miles (16.6 km2), of which 6.0 square miles (15.6 km2) is land and 0.39 square miles (1.0 km2), or 6.17%, is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 13,539 people, 5,823 households, and 4,081 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,179.2 people per square mile (841.8/km²). There were 6,605 housing units at an average density of 1,063.1/sq mi (410.7/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.67% White, 0.40% African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.50% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.36% from other races, and 0.80% from two or more races.
