The Software Sustainability Institute is a national facility for building better software based in the UK and founded in 2010. The Institute is based at the University of Edinburgh (EPCC formerly Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre) with sites at the University of Manchester and the University of Southampton. It is an academic institute run for the benefit of researchers and software developers, and funded with over £4 million from Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) with further funding from the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC).
The Principal investigator of the project is Neil Chue Hong with support from Malcolm Atkinson, David De Roure, Carole Goble and Mark Parsons.
