Slimonidae is an extinct family of eurypterids that lived in the Silurian period. The family contains two genera, Salteropterus and Slimonia. Slimonidae is a family whose genera are distinguishable by their telsons, which are notably different from those of other eurypterids. For example, the Slimonia telson is defined as a "strongly expanded anterior half", and the Salteropterus telson is defined as a "previous part of carinate telson broadly trigonal with serrated posterior edges".
