Sir Edward Brian Stanford Mountain, 4th Baronet (born 19 March 1961) is a Scottish Conservative Party politician who has been a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Highlands and Islands region since the election in May 2016.
Mountain joined the Blues and Royals regiment of the British Army from Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in October 1981.
In the 2011 he stood in the Caithness, Sutherland and Ross constituency where he finished fourth.
He stood unsuccessfully in the Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey constituency in the United Kingdom general election, 2015. In the 2016 Scottish Parliament election he stood as the Conservative candidate for the Inverness and Nairn, coming second to Fergus Ewing although Mountain took one of the three places that the Conservatives won on the regional list.
Mountain is the Scottish Conservative spokesperson for land reform.
