Singleton Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Singleton) is a 550-bed hospital located in Sketty Lane, Swansea, Wales, operated by Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board. The main building was completed in 1968. The hospital adjoins Singleton Park and the Singleton Park campus of Swansea University where there is a nursing school and a school of medicine. Singleton Hospital hosts one of the teaching centres for Swansea University School of Medicine;[1] the other teaching centre is based at the nearby Morriston Hospital.
Departments include:
There is also a GP-led Minor Injuries Unit which takes on some of the responsibilities typically dealt with by an Accident and Emergency department, in a more convenient location for many living in the city.[2] The main A&E for Swansea is in Morriston.
The Maggie's Cancer Care Centre for South West Wales is located in the grounds of Singleton Hospital built according to a design by late Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa.
Singleton Hospital also benefits from its own Hospital Radio Station, Radio City 1386AM which has been part of the hospital since 1968.
