Simara is a town located in the Bara District in the Narayani Zone of south-eastern Nepal. The formerly Village Development Committee was merged to form new municipality since 18 May 2014. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 23,835 people living in 5,253 individual households.
Simara is connected with birgunj in south and with pathlaiya in north direction by the Tribhuvan Highway. Simara Airport is also situated here is established in July 4, 1958.
The highest temperature ever recorded in Simara was 42.8 °C (109.0 °F) on the 6th June 1979, while the lowest temperature ever recorded was 1.0 °C (33.8 °F) on the 23th January 1985 .
