Shoratgarh


Shohratgarh Town is a Largest Nagar Panchayat and Tehsil in Siddharthnagar District. Total population of the town is more than 25,000 and it aspires to get status of Nagar Palika Parishad.

As of 2011, the India census has stated that the population of Shohratgarh is 25000 .to above

Males constitute about 52 percent of the total population and females 48 percent. The literacy rate of Shohratgarh is about 60 percent, higher than the national average of 59.5 percent. Male literacy is 67 percent, and female literacy is 51 percent. In Shohratgarh, 17 percent of the population is under six years of age. It is a minority dominated area. Shohratgarh railway station (station code–SOT) is located on the way to Gorakhpur from Gonda via loop line, an earlier meter gauge that has since been converted to broad gauge Indian Railway and Buddhist circuit road, NH-730 the transport facility of Uttar Pradesh.
