Sheppton is a census-designated place (CDP) in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 239 at the 2000 census.
Sheppton is located at 40°53′46″N 76°7′6″W / 40.89611°N 76.11833°W (40.895990, -76.118221). The 1963 Sheppton mining disaster brought international attention to the small patch town. The Associated Press called Sheppton one of the top news stories of the year. A book Sheppton: The Myth, Miracle & Music investigated miraculous and supernatural events that occurred at the rescue site.
