Shawbury United Football Club are a football club originally from Shawbury, near Shrewsbury, in Shropshire, but currently based in Wem, Shropshire, England. They were established in 1992. They are members of the Midland League Premier Division, having been promoted from the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division at the end of the 2015–16 season.

Shawbury United are one of the newer clubs in the West Midlands region, having been formed in 1992. They started out playing in the Shrewsbury and Shropshire Alliance Division Two. They swiftly progressed up the divisions, winning a number of local cups along the way, and in 1999-00 the club were rewarded with admission to the West Midlands (Regional) League, initially in Division One North. In 2000–01 they were promoted to the Premier Division, where they remain to this day, with a best finish of second place in 2007–08.

Despite having aspirations to progress further up the football pyramid, recent seasons have seen fluctuating fortunes for the North Shropshire side. Although they have won more local cup competitions along the way and a good run in the F.A. Vase (2007–08) brought the club some publicity, success in the league has been more sporadic. With other Shropshire sides Market Drayton, Shifnal Town and Bridgnorth Town all progressing above and beyond the West Midlands leagues, Shawbury have been somewhat left behind and with Ellesmere Rangers and Ludlow Town also competing for a place in the Midland Alliance success has been difficult to come by.
