Sharon is a town in southwestern York County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 421 at the 2000 census.

The Hill Complex Historic District, W.L. Hill Store, and Sharon Downtown Historic District are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Sharon is located at 34°57′6″N 81°20′22″W / 34.95167°N 81.33944°W / 34.95167; -81.33944 (34.951565, -81.339360).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 421 people, 149 households, and 113 families residing in the town. The population density was 329.7 people per square mile (127.0/km²). There were 161 housing units at an average density of 126.1 per square mile (48.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 94.54% White, 3.80% African American, 0.95% Native American, and 0.71% from two or more races.

There were 149 households out of which 35.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.8% were married couples living together, 9.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.5% were non-families. 19.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.83 and the average family size was 3.25.
