Sharad Arvind Bobde (born 24 April 1956 Nagpur) is a judge of the Supreme Court of India. He is a former Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court. He is also serving as the Chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai and Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur.
He completed his graduation at SFS College Nagpur and studied Law at Nagpur University in 1978. He enrolled as Advocate on 13 September 1978 and practised at the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court with appearances before the principal seat at Bombay and before the Supreme Court of India. He became Senior Advocate in 1998 and became additional Judge of Bombay High Court on 29 March 2000. He joined as Chief Justice of Madhya pradesh High Court on 16 October 2012.
Bobde was elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court of India on 12 April 2013.
A three judge bench of the Indian Supreme Court, comprising Bobde, Jasti Chelameswar, and Chokkalingam Nagappan, ratified an earlier order of the Supreme Court and clarified that no Indian citizen without an Aadhaar card can be deprived of basic services and government subsidies.
