Shanghai Calling is a 2012 American romantic-comedy film written and directed by Daniel Hsia and produced by Janet Yang. Starring Daniel Henney, Eliza Coupe, and Bill Paxton, Shanghai Calling is a story about a group of Americans who find themselves immigrants in a foreign country.
Sam Chao (Daniel Henney), an ambitious New York attorney, is sent to his law firm's Shanghai office to close an important deal. Things go disastrously wrong and he finds his career in jeopardy. With the help of his beautiful relocation specialist Amanda Wilson (Eliza Coupe), fast food executive Donald Cafferty (Bill Paxton), and his local colleagues, Sam just might be able to save his job and learn to appreciate the wonders that Shanghai has to offer.
Daniel Henney won a Best Actor award at the 2012 Newport Beach Film Festival, and Daniel Hsia won a Best New Director / Outstanding First Feature Award at the 2012 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
