Shambhunath
Shambhunath (शम्भुनाथ) is another one of the famous temples of eastern Nepal. In the temple the largest Shivling (शिवलिङ) is placed. A long time ago it was brought from Chandrabhoga chure hill, when it was small. It is situated in Shambhunath Municipality, Saptari, 12 km from Rajbiraj and also near to Mahendra Highway (south, by foot 2–3 minutes). This Temple is a main attraction for Nepal and Indian pilgrims. People are likely to come here in Bada Dashain, Sivratri and many others. During the month of Baisakh (the first month of Bikram Sambat) the people celebrate here with joy and happiness.
