"Service" is the fourth episode of the seventh season and 87th episode overall of the post-apocalyptic horror television series The Walking Dead, which aired on AMC on November 13, 2016. The episode was written by Corey Reed and directed by David Boyd.
The episode focuses on the remaining members of the core group holding together in Alexandria while mourning the deaths of Glenn and Abraham, but Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the Saviors show up early at their gates for their first offering.
Waking up in Alexandria, Michonne (Danai Gurira) takes her katana and a rifle hidden in a chimney. She leaves while a seemingly distressed Rick (Andrew Lincoln) watches. She travels to a field, sets up on an abandoned vehicle, and waits.
Back at Alexandria, Eugene (Josh McDermitt) works on a radio to hand over as part of the first offering to the Saviors. Rosita (Christian Serratos) and Spencer (Austin Nichols) offer for him to help them on a run, but he refuses. The Saviors then arrive and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) demands that they let him inside. Rick opens the gate, but is angered by the fact that Negan has arrived ahead of schedule. Negan brushes this off and kills a walker, saying he is providing a "service" to the community. He then makes Rick hold Lucille as he and the Saviors enter Alexandria. Rick tells Negan that they put aside half of their supplies for the offering, but Negan refuses this notion and states that he decides what is taken, not Rick. The Saviors then begin searching all of the houses in Alexandria. Negan instructs Rick to show him around the community.
