Skip Day (also called Ditch Day, Cut Day or Senior Skip Day for the senior class) is a tradition in many American schools where the majority of the class skip school around April 20, often to spend the day at an amusement park or a resort.
The most frequently chosen day is either the day before prom or the following Monday. Most days popular for students to ditch include the day after Halloween, the day before election day, the day after the Super Bowl, Cinco de Mayo, April 20, the day before or after Spring Break and IHOP Free Pancake Day.
