Sekolah Pelita Harapan (SPH) is a group of private co-educational schools in Indonesia with a Christian affiliation, serving grades K–12. The school was established in 1993 and is among the most selective private schools in Jakarta, with graduates routinely departing for highly selective universities overseas. The school has three primary campuses in Lippo Village, Kemang village, Sentul City, and Lippo Cikarang. It has recently opened campuses in Kemang and Pluit (kindergarten). The school has offered the International Baccalaureate program for a number of years now.
The schools were established in 1993 by Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan (The Hope Education Foundation) when the satellite town of Lippo Village was opened. Since, there have been several notable alumni, including Agnes Monica.
All of SPH's main campuses are accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization. The campuses in Lippo Karawaci and Sentul City are members of the Council of International Schools (CIS), New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
As the first SPH campus, the Lippo Village campus continues to be SPH's flagship. SPH Lippo Village is a one-hour drive west from Jakarta in the residential suburb of Karawaci. Spanning over seven hectares of land, the campus comprises nine blocks and six main buildings. The campus houses eight bio-science laboratories, a wood technology laboratory, a food technology laboratory, three chapels/multipurpose venues, two libraries, two swimming pools, two gymnasiums, two outdoor basketball courts, three tennis courts, two softball fields, two soccer fields, a rock climbing wall, a jogging track, a bank, a clinic, a book store, two dance studios, a visual arts center and two canteens.
The campus is renowned for its productive Performing Arts Department, primarily through the school's drama productions. Past productions include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The King and I, The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz, some performed at Jakarta's Gedung Kesenian Jakarta . The Department's choir and orchestra team formed the Twilight Youth Orchestra and Lippo Village Community Choir and Orchestra (LVCCO). The school also teaches ballet in the Australian dance method.
