Sekiryo Yamauchi

Sekiryo Kaneda (金田 積良, Kaneda Sekiryō, 1883–1949) (also known as Sekiryo Yamauchi (山内 積良 Yamauchi Sekiryō)) was the second president of what is now Nintendo Company Limited, from 1929 to 1949. He married the daughter of Fusajiro Yamauchi, Tei Yamauchi, and took the Yamauchi surname.

When Sekiryo took over Nintendo, he was in charge of Japan's largest card maker. In 1933, Sekiryo established a joint-venture company, and renamed it Yamauchi Nintendo and Co. In 1947, he established a distribution company, Marufuku Company Limited.

In 1949, Sekiryo retired after suffering a stroke, and he died from complications soon afterward. His grandson Hiroshi Yamauchi took over the business. Hiroshi Yamauchi's father did not take over the company because he had abandoned his son and wife, Kimi.
