Scott F. McClure is a farmer, engineer, businessman, Army veteran, and American politician. McClure resides in Jerome.
The Democrats failed to put up a candidate for the first time in 2004, and McClure stood as a write-in candidate. He was the only opposition to the incumbent Crapo. He received 4,136 votes, just 0.82% of the total. Crapo spent more than 100 times more than McClure during the race.
In 2006 and 2008 McClure was the Democratic nominee in races for Idaho Legislature from the Jerome- and Minidoka County-based District 26. He was defeated in both elections by the Republican incumbent.
