Sawgrass is a census-designated place (CDP) in St. Johns County, Florida, United States. The population was 4,942 at the 2000 census. The area is located in Ponte Vedra Beach. Sawgrass is also home to the golf tournament with the greatest prize money available, with $9.5 million for competitors
