Sanjay Gupta (born 23 October 1969) is an Indian filmmaker, producer and screenwriter working primarily in Bollywood industry. Gupta is mostly known for his films such as Jung,Khauff,Kaante, and Zinda. He has frequently cast Aditya Pancholi and Sanjay Dutt in his movies.

Gupta started his career with Aatish: Feel the Fire (1994) starring Aditya Pancholi and Sanjay Dutt. Later he went to write and direct films including Ram Shastra, Khauff and Jung. The filming of Jung (2000), lasted over two years. Gupta and producer Satish Tandon had a dispute about the release of the film, with Tandon pushing for a release while Gupta wanted Sanjay Dutt to re-dub some lines, which Dutt was refusing to do.

While filming Kaante in the Los Angeles in 2001, the events of the 9/11 attack forced the film to relocate planned scenes from several areas that were then considered sensitive. Commentators noted a similarity in Kaante to Quentin Tarantino's film Reservoir Dogs. Gupta says that he was "inspired" by a number of other films as well, including The Asphalt Jungle, The Killing, and the film that inspired Reservoir Dogs, City On Fire.

Gupta's Zinda (2006) has been described as an unofficial remake of the Korean film Oldboy
