The Robert J. Frankel Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race run at Santa Anita Park early each year. A Grade IIIT event, it is open to fillies and mares, age four and up, willing to race one and one-eighth miles on the turf. The race currently carries a purse of $100,000.
Inaugurated in 1968 as the San Gorgonio Handicap, the race was renamed in 2010 to honor the late Hall of Fame trainer Robert J. Frankel.
The race downgraded from Grade II to Grade III in 2012.
