Samuel Sejjaaka is a Ugandan accountant, university professor, and businessman. He is an associate professor of accounting and finance at the Abacus Business School (ABS). Between 1993 and 2014, he lectured at Makerere University (later the Makerere University Business School) and rose to the position of deputy principal. In December 2014, he retired from public service at age 50. He then helped establish ABS, Uganda's premier executive education institution.
Sejjaaka was born on 10 January 1964 in the Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city. As a child, he lived with his family in Entebbe, attending St. Theresa’s School and Lake Victoria Primary School. For his O-Level and A-Level education, he studied at Kings College Budo, a mixed boarding middle and high school in Wakiso District.
From Kings College Budo, he joined Makerere University, earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He followed that up with a postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science, also from Makerere. He then attended the University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom, earning a Master of Science degree in financial studies. His Doctor of Philosophy in sccounting and finance was obtained from Makerere University. Sejjaaka is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a certified public accountant.
Sejjaaka is a partner in SNG Sejjaaka, Kaawaase & Company, Certified Public Accountants, which is part of the SNG Africa Group. He founded the firm as Skill Consultants in 1988. He also serves as a director of Stanbic Bank (Uganda) Limited, the largest commercial bank in the country, by assets. He is also an associate professor in accounting and finance at ABS.
