Salem Wales Goodale was an American football coach in the United States.
Goodale was the head college football coach for the Baker Wildcats located in Baldwin City, Kansas. He held that position for the 1890 and 1891 seasons. His coaching record at Baker was 6 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie. As of the conclusion of the 2012 season, this ranks him #11 at Baker in total wins and #4 at the school in winning percentage (.722).
Goodale was the first victorious head college football coach in Kansas. He was the head coach at Baker for the first college football game played in the state of Kansas. On November 22, 1890, his team beat the Kansas Jayhawks by a score of 22–9.
