Sadozai (Pastun tribe)

The Sadozai are a sub-tribe of the Popalzai. They are Pashtun and are traditionally considered to descend from Sado Khan, an important chief of the 17th-century who was called "lord of the Afghans". His direct descendants established the Durrani Empire, leading to the tribe sometimes being called the Sadozai dynasty.

Sadozai are mostly living in the valleys of Tarnak, Logar, Kandahar, and Kabul. Sadozai families can also be found Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Peshawar, Bannu, Quetta, Mardan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Dera Ismail Khan, Dina, Abbottabad, Poonch & Sudhnoti Districts of Azad Kashmir, Lahore, and Multan in Pakistan. Some descendants of Shah Shuja ul Mulk also settled in Ludhiana, India.
