Rubicon is a town in Dodge County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,005 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated communities of Rubicon, Saylesville, and Woodland are located in the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 34.9 square miles (90.5 km²), of which, 34.5 square miles (89.4 km²) of it is land and 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²) of it (1.17%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,005 people, 662 households, and 544 families residing in the town. The population density was 58.1 people per square mile (22.4/km²). There were 680 housing units at an average density of 19.7 per square mile (7.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.70% White, 0.15% African American, 0.05% Native American, 0.10% Asian, 0.15% from other races, and 0.85% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.70% of the population.
There were 662 households out of which 41.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.9% were married couples living together, 4.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.8% were non-families. 13.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.03 and the average family size was 3.35.
