Rough Night (formerly known as Rock That Body) is an American black comedy, directed by Lucia Aniello in her directorial debut written by Aniello and Paul W. Downs. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Zoë Kravitz, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer and Paul W. Downs.
The film is scheduled to be released on June 16, 2017, by Columbia Pictures.
Five best friends from college (played by Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer, and Zoë Kravitz) reunite 10 years later for a wild bachelorette weekend in Miami. During their hard partying they accidentally kill a male stripper. Amidst the craziness of trying to cover it up, they're ultimately brought closer together when it matters most.
On June 22, 2015, it was announced that Sony Pictures had won the bidding war for the female-driven comedy script titled Move That Body written by Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs, which Aniello would also direct and Downs would co-star. Both would also produce the film through their production banner Paulilu along with Matt Tolmach and Dave Becky. The script was shown among the 2015 Black List of unproduced scripts.
On December 15, 2015, Scarlett Johansson joined the film to play the lead role. On April 28, 2016, Zoë Kravitz was cast in the film. On May 2, more cast was announced for the newly titled Rock That Body, which included Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, and Ilana Glazer.Demi Moore, Ty Burrell, and Colton Haynes joined the cast in August. In September 2016, Enrique Murciano and Hasan Minhaj joined the cast of the film.
