Ron Donachie (born 26 April 1956) is a Scottish actor. He is known for starring as Inspector Rebus in the BBC Radio 4 dramatisations of the Ian Rankin "Rebus" mystery novels and for his supporting roles in films The Jungle Book (1994), Titanic and television series Doctor Who and Game of Thrones.
Donachie was born in Dundee, Scotland as Ronald Eaglesham Porter. He was educated at Madras College, St Andrews and the University of Glasgow, from where he graduated in English Literature and Drama in 1979.
His brother, Stewart Porter, is also an actor. Donachie is married to Fiona Biggar, they have two children; the actor Daniel Portman, who portrays Podrick Payne on Game of Thrones, and Naomi Porter, a linguist.
