Roelant Oltmans


Roelant Oltmans (Oegstgeest, May 25, 1954) is a Dutch hockey coach. At present, he is the high performance director and head coach of the India men's hockey team. Earlier he was the coach of the men's team of Larensche Mixed Hockey Club, and has been coach of the Dutch men's team and the women's team.

The career of Oltmans were several successes. His first major prize was Dutch women's team. He was coach from 1989 to 1993 and was world champion in 1990 in Sydney. In 1993 he moved to the men's team. Six years after the World Cup in Sydney with the team he won the Olympic Games in Atlanta.

In 1998 he became world champion in the men in Utrecht. After his successes in hockey Oltmans stepped on to the football. Until 2002 Oltmans was technical director of football NAC. Through an adventure in hockey Little Switzerland Oltmans began in late 2003 as coach of the national team of Pakistan during the Olympic Games in Athens and had this position until the end of 2004. In 2005 he returned as coach of the national men's team. This position he held until the 2008 Summer Olympics, which was 4th Netherlands.
