Roderick Jefferson Gonçalves Miranda (born 30 March 1991), known simply as Roderick, is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for Rio Ave F.C. as a central defender.
Born in Odivelas, Roderick arrived in S.L. Benfica's youth academy in 2000 (aged nine), from Lisbon neighbours Odivelas FC. He was promoted to the first team nine years later after having played in all the youth ranks of the Primeira Liga giants, and appeared in some pre-season and League Cup matches in his debut campaign.
For 2011–12, Roderick was loaned to Servette FC in Switzerland – coached by former Benfica player João Alves – in a season-long move. On 31 July 2012 he joined Deportivo de La Coruña in La Liga, in the same predicament; he returned to Benfica in the following transfer window, however.
Roderick was definitely released by Benfica in August 2013, signing a five-year deal with Rio Ave FC.
