Rocket Software is a privately held software development firm with business and technology partnerships with IBM, EMC, Fujitsu, HP Enterprise Services, Hitachi Data Systems, and others. The company has more than 1200 employees, and is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, USA.

Rocket Software was founded in Boston in 1990 with a focus on IBM DB2 tools. Rocket's products are in the analytics, data, storage, applications and networks areas, and run on platforms including mainframe, Linux/Unix/Windows, IBM i, public and private cloud, and hybrid/virtualized systems.

Rocket software runs on IBM System z, IBM System i, UNIX, Windows and other platforms and offers tools to access non-SQL data with standard SQL queries.

In 2013, Rocket was named to Database Trends and Applications magazine's inaugural “DBTA 100,” a list of the companies that matter most in data. In 2012, Rocket's Aldon subsidiary was recognized as a Niche Player in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for application life-cycle management and as a Contender in The Forrester Wave: application life-cycle management, Q4 2012. Rocket Aldon

Acquired from Marlin Equity Partners in 2011, the Aldon group develops software change management products for the enterprise application lifecycle management (ALM) and software change management (SCM) markets. The suite of products includes Aldon Lifecycle Manager, Aldon Deployment Manager, Aldon Community Manager, and Aldon CMDB.

Rocket Arkivio

The Arkivio line of data archive and backup products includes Arkivio Autoexplore, Arkivio Autostor, and Arkivio Automigrate. Arkivio was acquired by Rocket in 2008.
