River Oaks School is a private K–12 school in Monroe, Louisiana.
The River Oaks Mustangs Football Team has been to 6 state championship games, their first was in 1974, where they lost to the now defunct Southwood Academy Spartans, located in Hammond, Louisiana, then in 1989, where they were defeated by False River Academy. Their first championship was in 1990, when it was still part of the now defunct Louisiana Independent School Association with a 12-0 season, defeating Central Private School. In 2005, the football team led to another undefeated season with 14-0, along with its first MAIS state championship, winning against Lee Academy (AR) 32-29 in overtime. In 2010, the football team again led to a championship with a 13-1 record, defeating Leake Academy (MS) 40-13. The football team once again led to a state championship appearance in 2011 with a 7-3 regular season record, but lost to Simpson County Academy 29-15.
Current football coach Robert Hannah has been coach for over 30 years.
The football team plays at Woody Boyles Memorial Stadium at Robert Hannah Field.
