Richmond High School, located in Richmond, Ray County, Missouri, is the high school for the Richmond R-XVI School District. It is a comprehensive high school with approximately 460 students in four grades. Students follow a modified block schedule, with all classes meeting on Wednesdays and four of their classes meeting Monday/Thursday and the remaining four classes meeting on Tuesday/Friday. The Richmond R-XVI School District is fully accredited with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and with the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Richmond High is the home of the Spartans, and includes the following athletic programs: volleyball, football, cross country, softball, baseball, golf, tennis, basketball, wrestling and track. It boasts a new multipurpose building, a new artificial surface track, and has a proud athletic tradition. Academic programs in Ag Education, English, Science, Social Studies, Math, Business, Vocal and Instrumental Music, Drama, and Family/Consumer Sciences are enhanced by the Missouri A+ Program, Missouri School-to-Work Program, ACT training, and other after-school activities. The principal is Mrs. Karen Southwick.
