Richard More (post-1459 - 20 February 1516) (alias Moore) was Archdeacon of Exeter from 13 January 1505 to 1515.
He was a younger son of John Moore (d.1509/10) of Moor Hayes in the parish of Cullompton in Devon, by his wife Elizabeth Clivedon (d.1515), a daughter and co-heiress of John Clivedon of Willand, Devon. A descendant of his elder brother Morris Moore (1459-1500) of Moor Hayes, was John Moore (1646–1714), Bishop of Norwich and Bishop of Ely, grandson of Rev. John Moore (c.1595–1657) a clergyman of Puritan views and an author of pamphlets against enclosures, who was a younger son of Sir John Moore of Moor Hayes, knighted at the Palace of Westminster by King Edward VI in 1549, by his wife Katherine Pomeroy, a daughter of Sir Thomas Pomeroy (1503-1566), feudal baron of Berry Pomeroy in Devon, who in 1547 sold Berry Pomeroy Castle, Deer park and manor to Edward Seymour, 1st Duke of Somerset, Lord Protector of England from 1547 until 1549 during the minority of his nephew, King Edward VI (1547-1553), and eldest brother of Queen Jane Seymour (d.1537), the third wife of King Henry VIII.
