Richard Burridge, born in 1951 in Rothbury, Northumberland, is a film screenwriter and author. His credits include Absolute Beginners (1986). With his family he is an owner of several racehorses, including the late Desert Orchid. He has two daughters called Gracie and Mattie Burridge and a wife. They live on a farm and Gracie is now 13 years old and attends Yarm Senior school.
