Ricardo Filipe da Silva Braga (born 3 September 1985), best known as Ricardinho, is a Portuguese professional futsal player who plays for Spanish club Inter FS and the Portugal national team as a winger.
Nicknamed O Mágico (The Magician), he was named the Best Player of the World by Futsal Planet in 2010, as a Benfica player, and in 2014, 2015 and 2016, as an Inter FS player. Ricardinho is the first and only Portuguese futsal player to receive the award.
Ricardinho started his futsal career at youth side Gramidense before moving to Miramar as a professional. Two years later he signed for S.L. Benfica.
Nicknamed "the Magician", Ricardinho is immediately a first team selection and becomes a fan favorite. Creative and virtuous, his game charms fans, but, internally, his first season in Benfica is a failure. The 2003/2004 Championship is lost to Sporting and the Portuguese Cup is won by SL Olivais. In the UEFA Futsal Cup, however, Benfica with Ricardinho in great prominence, made a historic run to the final where he would lose against the Spaniards of Interviú 7-5 on aggregate.
The next season everything is different, as he helped his club to win the "double", with victories in the National Championship and the Portuguese Cup 2004/2005, relegating their eternal rival, Sporting to second place and beating Boavista in the final of the Cup, for 4-1.
The 2005/2006 season began well with a 5-5 (5-4 penalty shootout) victory in the Super Cup, but ends up not finishing in the best way with Benfica losing the two most important competitions to Sporting. In the final of the Cup, Benfica is defeated 9-5 played in Coimbra.
In the next three seasons (2006/2007, 2007/2008 and 2008/2009) Benfica won 3 National Championships, 2 Portuguese Cups and 2 Super Cups. He was given the nickname for the international bet and equipped with a very strong team composed of players like Ricardinho, Arnaldo Pereira, Pedro Costa, Joel Queirós, César Paulo, among others, Benfica, guided by former captain André Lima gets the much sought-after trophy Of European champion, with the victory in the UEFA Futsal Cup 2009/2010. In the final four of the competition, played at the Pavilhão Atlântico in Lisbon, Ricardinho scored 2 very important goals against Luparense Calcio of Italy in the final half. The 8-4 victory at this meeting allowed Benfica to stamp their passport for the final of the event. Although he failed to score, Ricardinho was decisive in Benfica's triumph in the final against Interviú Madrid, 3-2, which made Benfica the first and only Portuguese club to become European futsal champion [ 3] Domestically Benfica would lose the chance to become a national champion [4] and would be defeated by the Belenenses in the Portuguese Cup final.
