Return of Django is a studio album by The Upsetters, released in 1969. The title is a reference to the spaghetti western Django, released in 1966. The title song featured in the video game, Grand Theft Auto: London 1969, which is set in 1969, and as a cover, in the film The Beach. The album was re-released on the 20 February 2012 on 180g vinyl through Sunspot Records.
The title track gained prominence in the U.K when earlier in 1969 Alan Blake, a young film editor at the time, suggested it be used as the soundtrack to a Cadburys chocolate commercial which had been directed by Terry Gilliam, then the animation wizard for Monty Python's Flying Circus. Return of Django was re-released as a single and becoming a 'top ten' hit.
All tracks written by Lee "Scratch" Perry.
