Rene Denfeld is an American writer and investigative reporter. Her first novel, The Enchanted (Harper 2014) won numerous awards and accolades, including the prestigious French Prix award, an ALA Medal for Excellence in Fiction, and a Carnegie Listing. The Enchanted was a finalist for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, the Oregonian's Best Book of the Year, and listed for the Dublin International fiction prize as well other awards. Rene Denfeld regularly speaks on issues relating to social justice, crime and hope. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her three children, all adopted from foster care.
Rene's second novel, The Child Finder, will be published by Harper in October 2017.
