Regions of the Northern Territory

Regions of the Northern Territory - include the five official regions in the Territory in Australia:

Usage is common for the term Top End - incorporating the Darwin and Arnhem Land regions, and of Central Australia being used for the Central region.

Earlier less specific terms have been used - the 'wild regions', 'coastal regions' and 'unsettled' regions

A number of deserts, and ecological regions cross boundaries from the Northern Territory into Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland.
