The Dave Clark Five covered "Reelin' and Rockin'" in early 1965. Their rendition became the first and overall higher-charting version of the song, peaking at number 23 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 24 in the UK. They also reached number 12 in Australia.

"Reelin' and Rockin'" was also covered by Gerry and the Pacemakers, the Rolling Stones and Baker Knight.
