Recognition Panel

The Recognition Panel is a corporate body created by the Royal Charter on self-regulation of the press. The Recognition Panel's function is to carry out activities relating to the recognition of press regulators.

The Conservative Party has committed in its 2017 manifesto that the Government will repeal Section 40 of the Crime and Courts Act. This will inevitably lead to the closure of the Press Recognition Panel.
