Ramu is a Malayalam film actor. He has acted in more than 100 films. He acts mainly in villain roles.

Ramu is born as eldest among three to Balakrishnan and Kalyani at Kecheri, Thrissur. He has a brother, Reghu and a sister, Ramani. Malayalam actor Sukumaran is his mother's sister's son.

He is married to Reshmi in 1995. They have a daughter, Amritha and a son, Devadas. His son Devadas is a child artist, acted in 2007 Malayalam movie Anandabhairavi and Athisayan.
