Rajiv Bajaj (born December 21, 1966) is the Managing Director of Bajaj Auto since 2005. He introduced the Pulsar range of motorcycles credited with reviving the fortunes of the ailing company benefiting the Indian auto industry.
Son of Rahul Bajaj, chairman of the Bajaj Group, Bajaj is a distinction holder in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering, Pune and has a master's degree with distinction in manufacturing systems engineering from the University of Warwick, UK.
1990-93: Officer on Special Duty Introduced `Streamlined Manufacturing Systems (SMS)` to enhance production quality and productivity.
1993-2000: GM(Products) / VP(Products) Redefined the product portfolio and the product development process. Conceived and implemented the Chakan Plant as a live engineering laboratory. Restructured the Supply Chain for superior development capability and greater economies of scale.
2000-2005: President/Jt.Managing Director Realigned marketing and sales while introducing some of the successful new products into selective international markets. Joined the Board of Bajaj Auto on March 5, 2002.
2005 onwards: Managing Director Developed the Corporate theme of Profitable Growth through a cross-functional effort of Winning Products, Satisfied Customers, and Lean Operations.
