Quick Charge is a technology found in Qualcomm Snapdragon systems-on-chip to charge devices faster than standard USB rates. It is one of several competing technologies going beyond 5 volts and 2 amps, such as Mediatek Pump Express, OnePlus Dash Charge and Motorola TurboPower. From Quick Charge v3.0 onwards the driving technology of it has been named as INOV (Intelligent Negotiation for Optimal Voltage) with independent versioning that improves on the quantized levels of allowed charging voltages.
Quick Charge 4.0 was announced in December 2016 alongside the Snapdragon 835; it will implement additional safety measures to protect against overcharging and overheating, and will be compliant with the USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) specifications.
