Pulsamerica is an online British-American magazine and think tank established in 2010 that covers Latin American national and international affairs. Its mission is to bring impartial centrist news analysis and diverse Latin American perspectives to the English language world. It publishes analytical, industrial, academic and op-ed articles on a wide variety of areas, principally socio-economic, international relations, governmental, leadership analysis, risk management, trade and security.
Its readership spans more than 100 countries and various governmental and NGO authorities.
In 2012, the Council on Hemispheric Affairs described Pulsamerica as "unique" and "free from mass media bias and agenda". In 2013, the United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs (UN-SPIDER) and Pulsamerica collaborated on Chinese cooperation of Latin American satellite programs in-depth analytical coverage. In 2016, UN Mexico approached Pulsamerica on marketing cross-industry sustainable development objectives. The same year, Pulsamerica engineered international promotion for Latin American-originated Academy Award, Goya Award, and Macondo Award films at the Toronto International Film Festival, Mar del Plata International Film Festival, Berlinale Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Argentine Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival. In October 2016, Pulsamerica signed a publishing alliance deal with International Policy Digest , thus further enriching and diversifying international relations-related content on both magazines, as well as offering additional visibility to contributors.
In February 2016, Harvard educated political analyst and journalist Ailana Navarez was appointed Editor-in-Chief and was transferred total ownership of Pulsamerica after working as a Venezuela and Uruguay specialist at Pulsamerica and a Latin American commerce, politics, leadership and security analyst for International Policy Digest, Slant Magazine and World Press. Since then, the Pulsamerica platform has undergone significant upgrades, including increased social network outreach, app development, strategic partnerships, website renovation, and a strengthened initiative to offer the opportunity of visibility to new writers.
