Princeton is a town in Green Lake County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,540 at the 2000 census. The City of Princeton is located within the town, though it is politically independent. The unincorporated community of Green Lake Terrace is also located in the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.6 square miles (92.3 km²), of which, 35.3 square miles (91.5 km²) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²) of it (0.84%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,540 people, 650 households, and 462 families residing in the town. The population density was 43.6 people per square mile (16.8/km²). There were 1,105 housing units at an average density of 31.3 per square mile (12.1/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.12% White, 0.39% Black or African American, 0.32% Native American, 0.06% Asian, 0.13% from other races, and 0.97% from two or more races. 0.91% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 650 households out of which 26.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.5% were married couples living together, 5.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.9% were non-families. 25.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.81.
