Preston-under-Scar is a village and civil parish in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 2 miles (3 km) west from Leyburn. Village population is 120, increasing to 170 at the 2011 census.
At the south of the village stands Bolton Hall, the seat of the Barons Bolton.
The Wensleydale Railway passes 1 mile (1.6 km) to the south. The railway station – Wensley station – is now in private hands.
There are remains of the old lead mining industry in the nearby Condenser Wood.
