Praia Branca is a settlement in the northwestern part of the island of São Nicolau, Cape Verde. It is part of the municipality of Tarrafal de São Nicolau. Its population at the 2010 census was 521. It is situated 2 km from the coast, 10 km northwest of Ribeira Brava. Nearest place include Ribeira Prata. It is also a beach in which it gives its name to the settlement due to the sand color being mainly white.

Praia Branca is connected with a remote route which encircles the west of the island. Valleys dominate the area with cultivated land, some forests cover the eastern portion. Nearby is Ribeiras Prata stream. Its beach is in the northeast portion.

The settlements around the area were founded between the 17th and 18th century the main settlement then as Praya Branca was founded.

The beach was mentioned in the 1888 map as "Praya Branca" by J. Dosseray as part of the Hispanosia map collection. Not long after, the 1911 Orthography Reform made by Portugal which removed the y and became replaced with an i, which included the beach, the settlement and other beaches on the island became Praia Branca.

Its football/soccer club is titled Futebol Clube Praia Branca, a beginner-level club which participates in the São Nicolau Island League.

Singer Armando Zeferino Soares was native to Praia Branca.
