Prabhavatigupta (fl. 405), was queen and regent of the Vakataka dynasty. She was the queen consort of Rudrasena II, and ruled as regent during the minority of her sons, Divakarasena, Damodarasena, and Pravarasena, from 385 until 405.
Her father was Chandragupta II of the Gupta Empire and her mother was Kuberanaga, of the Naga. She married Rudrasena II of the Vakataka. After his death in 385, she ruled as regent for her young sons, Divakarasena, Damodarasena, and Pravarasena, for twenty years. In this, she was supported by her father and the Vakatakas were practically part of the Gupta empire. This period is often referred to as the Vakataka-Gupta age. Pravarasena was later made the king, but after some years, he died. His death was followed by a succession dispute lasting for quite some time. Eventually, Narendrasena, the grandson of Prabhavati Gupta ascended the throne as the king and later married the Kunthala princess of Kadamba. The plot of these successions was used a thousand years later, to make the Indian Cinema Hit, Bahubali(1&2).
